The White House Country Hotel situated to the south of Powys and in the heart of the Bannau Brycheinog (Brecon Beacons National Park). Powys is registered as the largest county in Wales, covering a quarter of the whole country, yet it has one of the smallest populations, it is well known to have more sheep than humans. We pride ourselves on our beautiful countryside and activities.
Bannau Brycheiniog / Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre is only 7 miles away and is a fantastic place to visit, it has its own cafe, gift shop and is full of information to start you on the right track to visit the Beacons. You can park up and go from the centre on a variety of walks and take in the stunning views of Pen y Fan which is the highest mountain in South Wales.

We have the Botanic Gardens of Wales approximately 1 hour away by car, a stunning day out in the summer months.
We have the National Show Caves of Wales approximately 20 minutes by car, a great day out for the kids (and adults as well).
Brecon (Aberhonddu) is just 9 miles away and is our nearest town, and hosts an indoor market on Tuesday and Friday dating back to around 1840. It also has a good selection of independent shops and cafes. All accessible by foot is the canal basin where day boats and canal cruises can be taken, booking is required. Brecon Theatre is also at the canal basin and is very popular to you must book well in advance if you fancy any of the the productions.
Walkers, Bikers, adrenaline hunters, casual fun lovers, we have it all.
Mountain Biking, we have a secure location for your bikes and cars as required.
Ramblers, go out get wet and come home to an open fire and comfortable surroundings, we have a large private car park.
Alpaca Trekking, just 5 miles away a great time for the kids and adults with these very funny and friendly animals.
Pony Trekking, a little further at 15 miles away and suitable for all the family, a great day out.
Zip Line, go if you dare? About 30 minutes by car but must be booked well in advance this crazy high wire adventure.
Welsh Red Kites, our official feeding station, but you will see them all day everyday flying around Sennybridge.
Water Fall Country, Powys is known for its water falls, get up early after the rain and see them in full force.
Big Pit, the National Coal Museum of Wales is about 1 hour from us.
Brecon Mountain Railway, is about 1 hour by car and strangely not in Brecon but just north of Merthyr Tydfil.
If you are happy to take your car within 1 to 1 1/2 hours we have, Newport, Cardiff, Swansea, the Mumbles and the Gower.
Brecon has been an army town dating back to the early 1800's and is the home of the Regimental Museum, we in Sennybridge are happy to be just 1 mile from the training camp most army veterans will remember Sennybridge.
